PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Vertical-based heli ski programs are the industry standard with a typical 7-night package including 100,000 vertical feet (30,480 vertical metres). 

What sets Bella Coola Heli Sports' vertical programs apart is that we specialize in small-group heli skiing. This helps us place like-minded skiers/riders of a similar ability level together and ensures that the ski program maintains the right pace.

Small Group Vertical packages are offered at Eagle Lodge and at Tweedsmuir Park Lodge for 4, 5, or 7-nights. We do not offer single-day heli skiing.

At Eagle Lodge, we fly a lightning-fast Koala AW119 helicopter with no more than 3 groups of 4 or 5 guests + 1 guide per group sharing 1 helicopter. At Tweedsmuir Park Lodge we fly agile A-Star helicopters with 2 groups of 4 guests + 1 guide per group sharing each helicopter.

Our Small Group Vertical packages offer a specific number of vertical feet/metres. The amount of vertical included depends on the season and the number of nights you choose to stay. Vertical is not limited to each specific day. Instead, the total amount included is available to be used throughout the duration of the ski program. Some days you may ski more and some days you may ski less. When you reach the amount of vertical included in the package you can decide whether to keep skiing or not.

Guests generally ski approximately 6-12 runs per ski day (depending on the location, weather, and time of year). Runs can range from 1,000 vertical foot (305 vertical metre) short shots through the trees to 5,000 vertical foot (1524 vertical metre) leg-burners through the dramatic open alpine.

Please note that in good weather and snow conditions, you will want to ski more vertical than what is included in the package. On the other hand, in bad weather, it is possible you will not ski the total vertical included in the package.

• Arrival - Day 1
  • 13:00 | Direct flight 70-minutes from Vancouver to Bella Coola (primary) or Anahim Lake Airport (secondary)
  • 14:30 | Ground transfer to the property (5-minutes to Eagle Lodge, 45-minutes to Tweedsmuir Park Lodge)
  • 15:30 - 17:30 | Avalanche safety training and helicopter orientation
  • 18:00 | Welcome reception prior to dinner
  • 19:00 | Three or four-course plated dinner
  • 20:00 | Evening socialization and relaxation
• Days 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7
  • 07:00 | Morning stretch class followed by early riser cold breakfast buffet
  • 07:30 | Hot breakfast is served
  • 08:00 | Morning introductions, weather updates, and plans for the day
  • 09:00 | Heli skiing begins
  • 12:30 | Picnic lunch in the field (flexible stop time)
  • 13:00 | Heli skiing resumes (flexible start time)
  • 16:30 | Heli skiing concludes (flexible stop time)
  • 18:00 | Cocktail hour and afternoon aprés
  • 19:00 | Three or four-course plated dinner
  • 20:00 | Evening socialization and relaxation
• Departure - Day 8
  • 07:30 | Pack your bags and come to breakfast in your ski gear
  • 08:30 - 13:30 | Full ski day en route to Bella Coola Airport (weather permitting)
  • ~16:00 | Direct flight 70-minutes from Bella Coola (primary) or Anahim Lake Airport (secondary) to Vancouver
  • 17:30 | Arrival in Vancouver
  • 21:00 | Connecting flights should be booked after this time
